On Foot: Switzerland

From July 17 to August 17, 2005, Craig Shepard walked 250 miles across Switzerland. Every day he composed a new piece, wrote it down and performed it on the pocket trumpet at 6 p.m. All concerts took place out-of-doors in public spaces such as squares, harbors, intersections, sidewalks, and mountain-tops. Each piece was named after the date and location of the first performance.

A CD of pieces written on the trek featuring Christian Wolff, Antoine Beuger, and Jürg Frey is available here.

"wonderful recording" -- Brian Olewnick, Just Outside

"lovely" -- Richard Pinnell, The Watchful Ear
