From July 17 to August 17, 2005, Craig Shepard walked 250 miles across Switzerland. Every day he composed a new piece, wrote it down and performed it on the pocket trumpet at 6 p.m. All concerts took place out-of-doors in public spaces such as squares, harbors, intersections, sidewalks, and mountain-tops. Each piece was named after the date and location of the first performance.
The Edition Wandelweiser Records CD contains performances of pieces composed on the trek by Christian Wolff, Jürg Frey, Antoine Beuger, Tobias Liebezeit, Marcus Kaiser and Katie Porter.
